We have written about this many times before but earnings season is nerve racking for long-term investors. It is common to own a company that reports (and beats) the analyst expectations but the stock can still get hammered.

Most of the time, nothing has really changed with your long-term thesis and the stock will be just fine.

As the owner of this stock, this is a very unpleasant situation as you have to have a strong stomach and stick with it.

As a TRADER, though, it can be a great opportunity.
